Crates are wooden boxes that can be found in many places on the Far, Far Range. You can open them by smashing them into the ground, or against a wall. They contain a variety of items described below.
Crates randomly spawn in specific spots in the wild. They can also be found in packs of 2 or 3 after you burst a Gordo. The spots are usually slightly hidden in the shadows, in tall grass, or in corners. When trading in the Range Exchange, the resources that you receive are also in a crate.
Crates despawn if not opened. As a result, it is impossible to keep and collect crates, and they should instead be opened upon their discovery.

Trivia
- The contents of crates are only determined upon destruction, rather than upon generation. (Except the crates from Range Exchange)
