|“||It was going to be magnetic, like an inverse boom slime and also come crashing into the world as a meteor. It was very interesting but that second bit wouldn’t make sense on the ranch, and the mosaic slimes were already raining fire, so we pivoted.||”|
— Nick Popovich's response regarding the discontinued Meteor Slime.
It was planned to be added in 0.6.0, however the devs stated that the slime wasn't working. Parts of it have been repurposed for the other new slimes, most likely Fire Slimes, but it's possible that it might come back in a future update, as unfinished code for the slime remains within the game's files. The meteor slime is able to attract stuff within the range of a single corral, which increases with the slime's agitation. It would have been also able to trigger a low gravity effect around it for 10 seconds, inside of which objects experience 0.2 times the gravity they usually do, however in-game it doesn't happen. After the slime started attracting stuff, it will remain in this state until it's sucked up into the Vacpack.
